The London Road is all about versatility, giving you the freedom to adventure in all weather. Explore the country and beat the traffic on a Monday morning - this is a true 'one' bike!
At the heart of the Planet X London Road is a stunning high quality 6061-T6 alloy frame designed from the ground up for a wide range of riding. A beautiful carbon fork sheds extra weight, keeps steering intuative and helps soak up unwanted road buzz, too.
Almost every town in Britain has a London Road - hence the name for our 'do-it-all' frame and our London Road is just as at home anywhere in the world! Disc Brake equipped, this bike is one tough cookie and delivers faultless riding in all weather conditions.
Sheffield's London Road is a busy, rough, commuter artery where survival is the name of the game. Designed from the ground up to combat the worst road surfaces, our London Road is ideal for road riding, adventure trails, commuting, and even touring with mudguard and panniers if the fancy takes you.
Featuring a more relaxed geometry (adapted from our legendary RT-58 sportive frame), the usual frontal weight associated with road bikes is actually moved further backward, off your shoulders and wrists, to bring the center of gravity closer to you. This gives better balance and more controlled handling. Weve also built in clearance for up to 40mm tyres, which provides extra cushioning from the larger air chamber in the tyre. This most natural and pure form of suspension allows you to venture off road, to explore country tracks and gravel paths.
Shed the mudguards, though, and in a flash youve a frame that's equally at home on the weekend Club run or cyclocross race, as endorsed by our sponsored cyclocross racer, CrossJunkie Alan Dorrington.
Groupset: SRAM Rival 11 speed groupset is loved by our customers and by us! Rival 11 has quickly become the most popular groupset we offer due to its striking combination of precise shifting, practical ergonomics and low weight. SRAM's innovative Double Tap shifting provides instantaneous gear shifts from the lightest touch at the controls. Coupled with Avid's class-topping BB7 disc brakes, you can enjoy amazing brake modulation and power, whether you're racing or putting the miles in during long weekend rides. Not forgetting the wide-range 11-32 teeth cassette option to help you spin up the steepest climbs; with quality like this, its easy to see why SRAM Rival is so well regarded.
Finishing kit: weve capped this bike build off with high quality finishing kit from Italian aces Selcof, plus San Marco and Planet X. With a combined package of this quality, you're getting a truly excellent bike and amazing value for money.
Need a rear pannier and mudguards for your daily commute? Why not try the Zefal Raider Universal Pannier or the Raliegh 26"-700c universal pannier. For mudguards we've designed a custom set especially for your new London Road Mudguards
Perfect cycle and great build quality
Shocking customer care after sale service. My bike arrived with no mud guards fitted, this was not mentioned when buying the bike that I would have to fit them. On speaking twice to staff, I was given two sets of different instructions and some fixings screws were missing. I have subsequently had to pay for another bike shop to fit them. The last member of staff told me to ignore the photo of the mudguards which are fitted to the London road frame on their website, as they are in fact damaged! I asked why don't they replace the photo with the correct mudguards that aren't damaged and he said he would pass the recommendation on! The photo on the website is the only point of reference as to fitting the mudguards. The last member of staff that I spoke to gave the impression of not actually caring about my situation.
Only the coverage of handlebar tape is too short.
Quality bike, versatile, fast, disc brakes, reliable :-) My daily steed :-)
Great company to deal with :-)
Mycket bra service! Snabb leverans! Enastende produkt!
Bike is perfect however the specialised order changes I made over the phone didn't happen. I requested an additional bottle holder and a different set of tires. The chap on the phone said it was all done so I was surprised when the bike arrived with the original selections.
I chatted over the phone to one of the advisors which was brilliant! Helped reassure me that I was getting the right bike size and selecting the best options. The bike is beautiful, Yodel delivered it safely for once and I would recommend the London Road to others and purchase another bike when I'm rich again!
Brilliant value for money love it
Really excellent service, staff are friendly, honest and really know their stuff. They helped me find the best bike for me and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend them to anyone and will be back, definitely worth the trip up the motorway!
Only one thing: the saddle tube was way to long for the small frame size so i had to shorten it by cutting it so that it fits.
Everything was fine besides the fact that there was a wrong tube inside one wheel and the tire was put in the wrong direction (not in the driving direction). So I had to take it off and put it back the other way round. Otherwise everything was fine.
Very good value for money. Well specced if a little heavy.
Very good bike fit included free of charge.Sales helpful.

Good bike, good price, i find quite good
The bike is brilliant, great spec although was annoyed that I ordered a small frame and got a medium and ordered and 120mm stem and got a 90mm
Swift processing of the order and helpful staff instore. I was however not emailed as suggested when my order was ready to collect which did cause a weeks delay and despite enquiring whether it was ready, I only found out it was wen I called in the shop on the off. Chance.I did have a slight mechanical problem in the first week. However I brought it into store and Jamie the mechanic was incredibly helpful and sorted it out for me swiftly and professionally. I was impressed at how quickly staff in the store and headquarters asked to help and showed exemplary customer service.ThanksMatt Stafford
Forget all your road racers; this bike is fast, handles well and will go almost anywhere. Use it every day. Soaks up the potholes with the carbon forks. I am 6'3" and just under 100kg; no issues with x-large London Road (zesty lime of course) Feels quite stiff and strong but absorbs the bumps well. High spec for the money. Good routing of cables.San marco ponza saddle fits me well and is comfortable. Sram rival 11 setup is excellent though needs careful adjustment. Vittoria randonneur tyres, although quite wide, roll well and are sure footed on our country roads around the North Downs and in town; there's always a lot of debris on the lanes and my mate's Rubaix is not so quick then! Avid bb7 brakes are amazing; again, set them up and check them regularly, loads of power and feel, work well in the wet. Good array of lugs for mudguards, rack etc. although I didn't want to spoil the look by bolting on extras (left them off for the first couple of weeks)Finish looks good, although only time will tell how it lasts.Get one!

All frame size recommendations are approximate. A good fit will also depend on the correct choice of stem length, correct bike set-up for the rider and riding style.
Correct frame size choice can vary greatly with riders' torso length. If you have longer legs and a shorter torso, go for a slightly shorter stem. If you think you are borderline between sizes, and you have longer legs and a shorter torso, go for the smaller frame size. If you have shorter legs and a longer torso, go for the larger frame size to get the extra top tube length.
As the frame sizes increase, so does the length of the head tube. If you are inflexible or perhaps have a history of back problems, consider going for a larger frame size. This will increase the relative height of the handlebars making the position less “extreme”. The larger frame will also have a longer top tube, so you’ll need to compensate for this with a shorter stem.
