Named after the grueling Maratona dles Dolomites race our lightest ever Endurance road bike. uses precisely engineered frame compliance and high modulus carbon fibre construction to help you conquer the steepest hills. With confidence inspiring neutral handling and a more comfortable riding position the Maratona rewrites the Sportive bike rule book to help you lead from the front of the pack.
Frameset: Any bike is only as good as the roads you ride on and that's why we've designed the Maratona to help smooth out the worst road surfaces. By precisely engineering frame tube shapes and carbon layup, we've created a frameset with subtle vertical compliance in the rear triangle for day-long riding comfort. Blending superior grades of carbon fibre in specific frame locations helped us to trim excess weight from the frame and create a comfortable bike with neutral handling that corners like it's on rails and climbs like a true mountain goat. Inspired by Jamie Burrow's victory in the Maratona dles Dolomites it's a truly versatile performer.
Longer chainstays and a taller front end contribute to the Maratona's relaxed riding position while an oversized tapered headtube and monocoque fork ensure sure-footed handling and braking confidence. Comfort is only half the story behind the Maratona, it's also incredibly efficient. The Maratona dances up climbs and can be relied on to help you get to the cafe before the last seat is taken. With Di2 compatible cable routing there's plenty of scope for a future groupset upgrade if you were ever that way inclined.
Groupset: Shimano's Tiagra 4700 groupset is 10-speed gearing done righty and at a new, even lower price point. Tiagra features all of Shimano's top-level technology and performance, trimmed and trickled down to a seriously competitive price point. Shifting finesse, ergonomics, drivetrain efficiency and durability are second to none for a 10-speed groupset. Tiagra is snapping at the heels of Shimano's own 11-speed groupsets. We've specced this bike up with a practical mix of Tiagra's best parts and there's a broad gear ratio that'll allow you to climb up any route no matter how steep it gets. It provides some serious competition to other brands 11-speed groupsets.
The Maratona's Shimano Tiagra pick comes with a wide ratio 11-32 cassette so you'll have plenty in reserve for the steepest climbs. Shimano's smooth acting 4700 brakeset takes charge of pulling you up to a halt and provides huge amounts of brake modulation for effortless stopping power. Featuring a Hollowtech 2 chainset with compact 50/34 chainrings that are light on weight and high on stiffness the Shimano Tiagra groupset offers faultless performance and durability that you trust mile after mile, season after season.
Wheelset:Shimano R500 Shimano R500's are a solid and smooth wheelset that presents exceptional price-to-performance ratio. Shimano know how to build quality wheels at affordable price-points. These R500's are a great upgrade for many bikes and can be trusted for years of great service!

All frame size recommendations are approximate. A good fit will also depend on the correct choice of stem length, correct bike set-up for the rider and riding style.
Correct frame size choice can vary greatly with riders' torso length. If you have longer legs and a shorter torso, go for a slightly shorter stem. If you think you are borderline between sizes, and you have longer legs and a shorter torso, go for the smaller frame size. If you have shorter legs and a longer torso, go for the larger frame size to get the extra top tube length.
As the frame sizes increase, so does the length of the head tube. If you are inflexible or perhaps have a history of back problems, consider going for a larger frame size and keeping the seat lower. This will increase the relative height of the handlebars making the position less “extreme”. The larger frame will also have a longer top tube, so you’ll need to compensate for this with a shorter stem.
