Over recent years, the Planet X name has become synonymous with top quality bikes and cycling components at the best value prices. The company, based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, took the cycling world by storm with hugely popular and highly acclaimed road bikes such as the Planet X Pro Carbon, Team Alu and Nanolight, as well as the award-winning Stealth and Exocet time trial bikes. The design and attention to detail doesn't stop with carbon road frames though - other legendary specialist products like the Planet X Uncle John cyclo-cross frame continue to excel in events where reliability, speed and performance are absolutely essential.
Planet X is more than just another online bike shop - alongside its own extensive range of bikes, frames and cycling products sit top quality components, clothing, spares and accessories from all the big-name manufacturers such as Shimano, FSA, Guerciotti, Giro, Schwalbe, Continental and SRAM - plus, a devotion to value combined with extensive buying power gives Planet X the opportunity to deliver amongst the lowest prices in Europe direct to the cycling public in the UK and beyond.
Planet X has received praise and awards from customers and the cycling industry alike. 220 Triathlon magazine has voted the Stealth time trial bike its Bike of the Year' award for the 3rd time, and awarded the Exocet a Best in Test - citing its astonishing quality and value for money compared to its competitors.
Planet X, together with its sister brand On-One, continues to pursue its aim of offering high-spec road, track, time trial, mountain, commuter and fixie bikes direct to the consumer, cutting out the middleman and slashing prices to the absolute minimum. The Company has been at the leading edge of the British bike scene for years and is now branching further afield with aims to deliver the same award-winning formula internationally.

All frame size recommendations are approximate. A good fit will also depend on the correct choice of stem length, correct bike set-up for the rider and riding style.
Correct frame size choice can vary greatly with riders' torso length. If you have longer legs and a shorter torso, go for a slightly shorter stem. If you think you are borderline between sizes, and you have longer legs and a shorter torso, go for the smaller frame size. If you have shorter legs and a longer torso, go for the larger frame size to get the extra top tube length.
As the frame sizes increase, so does the length of the head tube. If you are inflexible or perhaps have a history of back problems, consider going for a larger frame size. This will increase the relative height of the handlebars making the position less “extreme”. The larger frame will also have a longer top tube, so you’ll need to compensate for this with a shorter stem.
Sean, Ha! on the antibiotics, do you think you could send me a photograph? and details of how long you've had the bike, how you stored it basically as much detail as possible and I'll get our carbon consultant to give you a second opinion. firstname.lastname@example.org
My SL has developed little White spots around the head tube underneath the lacquer. Will antibiotics clear this up? Or has the bonding process been compromised. It's easily seen on the black frame; is it normal?
We are very interested in your carbon bike frames. We manufacture carbon road/mountain bike frames in China. Good quality and competitive prices! please contact me at my email that is mark6920at163dotcom. Thanks.
Hi Matt - it could be done (and I'm sure it has), but it's not one of our standard bike builds I'm afraid. Of course you could DIY if you're good at spannering :-)
Hi, are you able to set-up the pro carbon frame with flat bars rather than drop bars? Would flats (660mm length) put too much pressure on the headtube? Many thanks.
Hi nathan, unfortunately we only have the classic logo left in size XL in pink. Otherwise can you really not live with the new logo? You'll be riding so fast people won't be able to see it!
Hi Guys...Im super in love with your Pro carbon frame in black (or white) but really want the classic logo version, Im not a fan of the new logo - sorry. Do you still sell the classic logo option and how can I get one ASAP! Cheers. Nathan
Hi Ben, no, we haven't set a rider weight limit on these frames.
Is there a weight limit on the rider these frames can handle?
Hello Kudders, happy to say there are some pink frames on order (the New Logo frames though- these ones are discontinued now). They are due at the end of February but if you need an exact date, let me know and I'll confirm it with the purchasing team.
Hi Jim. The new version of the Pro Carbon Road frames are in stock now!
Hey, after a pink frame and fork in size small for my pink obsessed girlfriend- well a complete pink bike actually- for this season. Any ideas when you might have one in please?
do we have a date for the pro carbon frame yet ? regards jim
Hi Marc, I'm afraid SL Pro Carbon frames are out of stock until the new year. Availability is limited and we're currently only able to supply the (new model) frame as a complete bike. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Hi Tomas. All will be compatible but make sure you use the same crown race that came with your headset on the new forks.
Hi there.. im wanting to purchase a planet x pro carbon road frame in large (black) aswell as the forks and headset.. any ideas when they will be coming back into stock? and a price for all 3? thankyou Marc
Ok, thanx. I have two more questions. I've broken the frame on my last bike that I want to change now with planet x carbon frame and I wonder if shimano 105 5600 groupset is compatible with it (BB english thread, 68mm)? The next thing is the fork which is 1 1/8" in diameter and was installed in integrated headset. As I understand bicycle mechanics I just have to put another headset in the head-tube and that's it. Thank you. Tomas
Hi Tomas, there are some XL Black SL Pro frames available that are not on stock right now. We will do a stock take and adjust the stock levels before the end of today so hopefully you should be able to by one then. They are a great frame.
I am interested in buying Planet X Pro Carbon Road Frame XL (black) for 440e, but they are at the moment all out of stock. Do you know when they will be available for purchase and if the price will be the same? Thank you. Tomas
