Do we need to explain what they're for?
It's hard to pin them down. We've used them on:
They take ROAD LEVERS, clamp in MTB STEMS and have a much shallower drop than most bars on the market, which means you can ride on the drops far more of the time, have great access to the brake levers and descend steep stuff with far more confidence than you'd ever imagine (some say they can descend rougher terrain better on these than on a regular flat bar).
Dimensions and stuff:- Geometry:- Width at the ends -- 554mm - centre/centre Width of "flat section" or "tops" - 375mm Overall drop - 112mm centre/centre Sweep forward - 64.5mm centre/centre (from centre of bar clamp to centre of tube at the front. Flare at ends - 113deg Finish - black anodised with lazer logos. ID at ends (for bar end shifter users) - 19.8mm Brake Lever clamp size on main bit of bar - 23.8 (road lever clamp standard) Stem Bar C. Material:- 6061 aluminium.
Weight 25.4mm 277gr (White finish)
Weight 31.8mm 299gr (White finish)
The bar was chipped by the cassette rings which was poorly packed, if the packing had some protective bubble it would have saved the bar.
Light, shallow drop bars. Bargain price for this quality. Great for cyclo cross type bikes.. Get some!!!
Unusual shape, but very comfy.
Good looking. Comfortable.
Great alternative to standard road bars (where I never used the drops) on my commuter bike, offer much more comfortable hand positioning while still allowing the use of road shifters. Why aren't more bikes supplied with bars like this? Good price and quailty as expected from Planet X.
