What could be better than our multiple award-winning Shimano Ultegra equipped EC130-E, Cycling Weekly's Aero Road Bike Of The Year 2017? How about a brand new Shimano Ultegra 8000 version featuring the very latest incarnation of their Ultegra groupset and Selcof's incredible carbon wheelset. All change, hail the new king of the road.
See it, ride it, own it. It's that simple, the EC130-E takes no prisoners and breaks hearts everywhere it goes. Throw a leg over it today and start smashing out the miles.
The EC-130-E is built to perform. With class leading aerodynamics, an incredibly stiff pedalling platform and efficient power transfer it has been designed from the ground up to help dramatically improve your cycling performance and carry you over the line first.
Frame: The EC-130-E frameset was created to help you slice through the air and extract every last watt of leg power. Advanced computer modelling of frame tube profiles and fluid dynamics has delivered a frameset that not only has a remarkable low drag profile but is also surprisingly light for an aero road bike.
Each EC-130E is created with our 'EPS Inside' moulding technology. Main tube frame junctions are laid up over pre-shaped EPS formers. This allows for a more accurate placement of carbon in the mould and helps to eliminate wrinkles inside of the frame to deliver stronger, lighter frames with absolute consistency from frame to frame.
Meticulously crafted from Toray's finest T800 IM the EC-130-E is the product of rigorous design and inspirational thinking. After one short ride you'll know the EC-130-E has to be your next Fast Aero Road bike.
Groupset: Shimano's Ultegra groupset has been upgraded and the result is the incredible Ultegra 8000 groupset. Shimano have worked to improved the efficiency of the shifting, improved brake feel and delivers a smoother working, better-looking groupset that's simply worth every penny.
A compact 50/34t chainset combines with the new Ultegra 8000 11-30t 11-speed cassette to give an excellent gear spread, close enough for fast road work but still including a bailout gear for tackling those ultra steep climbs. Wider flatter crank arms retain Shimano's Hollowtech2 technology and improved stiffness at the bottom bracket has obviously been delivered.
Ultegra 8000 moves to polymer coated gear cables for the slickest possible shifts. revised lever ergonomics have delivered a sweeter gear shift feel and the slightly larger downshift paddle is easier to hit with gloved hands. Inline cable adjusters are a thing of the past with the new levers containing Allen key adjustable cable pre-tensioning.
The biggest change is out back where Shimano has integrated their Shadow Derailleur design from their Dura Ace and off-road groupsets. Shadow geometry places the rear mech further under the cassette, giving slicker shifts, protecting from crash damage and allowing for larger cassettes for enhanced gear ratios. The front mech gets a new cage and pivot design to help it accommodate the wider gear ratios and trend towards wider tyre sizes.
If you've ridden Ultegra before you know how much care and attention Shimano put into it. It's their best selling groupset and offers the best mix of price/performance. This new version is no exception it's simply superb.
Wheelset: Selcof Delta 40
Selcof's Delta and Ultra carbon components have set a new benchmark for performance carbon fibre accessories. Now they've gone back to the drawing board and the wind tunnel to develop and entirely new range of full-carbon wheels.
Constructed from multiple grades of carbon fibre and using high TG resins for maximum braking performance and durability the Selcof Delta 40mm Carbon Clinchers are all set to smash the carbon race wheel market wide open. Featuring bladed aero spokes and Selcof's new race hubs the Delta 40 spin up to speed incredibly quickly, slicing through the air and leaving the competition trailing in your wake.
The Delta 40 is designed to be used with 25-28mm tyres for maximum watt saving and minimum rolling resistance. A 17mm internal width combines with a 27mm toroidal profile and wider tyres to offer enhanced aero performance at a greater range of yaw angles than narrower wheels.
Faster, lighter and offering incredible power transfer as well as serious watt saving ability the Delta 40 sets a new watermark in carbon fibre wheel performance for sensible money. If you're looking for a set of durable, lightweight race day wheels, or the perfect wheels for those hilly triathlon courses then the Delta 40's have to be on your list.
Finishing kit: We've revisited our tried and tested Italian theme for the finishing kit Prologoo providing the racing perch and Italian accessory masters Selcof providing the seatpost bar and stem.
The EC-130-E is for the serious competitor in all of us. It skilfully blends the performance advantage of an elegantly designed aero frameset with the lightweight advantage that only hand finished carbon construction can deliver. It's our ultimate fast Aero Road bike and it's ready for you to ride away today for less than you thought possible.
"If youre after an aero bike for riding and racing on flat and rolling terrain, then theres no better bike out there for the price
