The Hydrosphere is a serious new competitor in the foul-weather clothing category, it delivers the warmth of a windproof jersey with the rain protection of a fully seam sealed waterproof jacket. Layer it up with different base layer combinations according to how cold it is and make the most of every bike ride.

We've created a new athletic fit for the Hydrosphere, narrower in the body, longer in the arm and with a drop tail it's perfectly tailored for any serious cycling activity. With an athletic fit and using a 3-way stretch, soft-hand, polyester fabric there's little excess material to flap around, even in the strongest winds, helping to keep you warm and dry whatever the weather. Elasticated wrists with a toughhook and loop closures are easy to fasten on the bike and large enough to slip over gloved hands.

A practical, full length front zip lets you adjust ventilation to suit the conditions. There's a generous, waterproof zippered rear pocket where you can stow everything you need to keep dry for a day on the bike and we've finished the rear pocket and wrist closures with reflective trimmings to help you be seen and safe on the road.

The Hydrosphere is a supremely versatile jacket. it's waterproof enough to take on the worst days in the saddle, windproof enough to fend of gale force storms and seriously well made so you'll use it season after season. Add one to your kit bag today and see what you've been missing.

Cycling Weekly reviewed the Hydropshere Jacket and had this to say. "A great waterproof jacket for apocalyptic conditions", "makes for a compelling prospect" and "Its hard to argue with the Planet X Hydrosphere waterproof jackets waterproof credentials" Read the whole Review on Cycling Weekly

Only worn it once so far but all good will see how it lasts. The sizing is a little off as I had to get a XXXL! I'm 6'1" and 14.5 stones an extra large is usually all I need.

I bought one of these on Sale , with the 12 Days of Xmas extra 12% discount, so 44 in total. I went for the Flouro version as the red really doesn't appeal (and doesn't match the bike at all ;) ).I had been wearing a cheap (20) Aldi Crane Sports jacket previously and while it did keep the wind and rain out it was not breathable and the ventilation was awful. On a longer ride you'd end up drenched in sweat rather than rain which rather defeats the object, even with the arm pit vents wide open and the zip partially undone.First impression was that it was very thin and felt almost rubbery on the inside and I have to admit the material didn't inspire confidence. The PX logo's are there but not in your face. The rear pocket is a good size, although the zippered opening is a little small. It will pack down small enough to go in a Jersey pocket as long as you take a minute to fold and roll it properly.Sizewise it's a good fit for me. I'm 6' 3" with a 42" chest and the Large size fits me nicely with base layer, bib tights and long sleeve jersey underneath, Sleeve length is good, going well down onto the wrists but without being baggy or flapping about.Likewise the fit around the chest was comfortable and didn't feel restricting, but didn't flap or go baggy. The cut is good and covers the lower back, although I did find it rode up in the course of riding and I had to pull it back down a couple of times.Took it out for a ride today in blustery, showery conditions and temperatures below 5 deg C. 20 miles at a moderate pace (HR Zone 3 give or take a bit).It definitely keeps the wind out and I didn't feel the cold at all, although I did find a noticeable coolness along the zip line indicating that maybe some of the wind was getting though. No sensation of sweating inside the jacket and no noticeable moisture build up. When I took it of at home it was a little clammy inside but certainly not enough to get upset about. When it did rain I didn't notice it through the jacket at all. No sign of leaks or water getting in through the seams or zips. Overall I'm pleased with it, especially at the price. True, it's not been tested in really bad conditions yet but I do get the feeling it could cope with all but the very worst. It's not a Gabba 2, but it's not got the Gabba 2 price either.

Always worried about the fit of a garment when ordering on line. However worries were unfounded as it fits really well. No flapping about and keeps the cold and wind out, yet to try the rain, but by the looks of it there will be no problems there. Nice to have the extra long back. If you are looking for a great jacket at a very good price, look no further.

This is a good jacket for the price if you get it in the sale.It punches well above its weight for 50 quid! All tho no vent. It keeps you warm an dry in 4/5 degrees rain an drizzle. After a 70mile club run it was only me who had leaked inside the jacket. After much thought on what jacket to get this is the one, Aposed to a higher end one.For the price i don'tthink you can go wrong . Good job X

It's a really nice fitting jacket - seems waterproof so far, not too breathable, but for the wet weather - perfect.
