At the heart of the Planet X London Road is a stunning high quality 6061-T6 alloy frame designed from the ground up for a wide range of riding. A beautiful carbon fork sheds extra weight, keeps steering intuative and helps soak up unwanted road buzz, too.

Almost every town in Britain has a London Road - hence the name for our 'do-it-all' frame and our London Road is just as at home anywhere in the world! Disc Brake equipped, this bike is one tough cookie and delivers faultless riding in all weather conditions.

Sheffield's London Road is a busy, rough, commuter artery where survival is the name of the game. Designed from the ground up to combat the worst road surfaces, our London Road is ideal for road riding, adventure trails, commuting, and even touring with mudguard and panniers if the fancy takes you.

Featuring a more relaxed geometry (adapted from our legendary RT-58 sportive frame), the usual frontal weight associated with road bikes is actually moved further backward, off your shoulders and wrists, to bring the center of gravity closer to you. This gives better balance and more controlled handling. Weve also built in clearance for up to 40mm slick tyres or 37mm knobbies, which provides extra cushioning from the larger air chamber in the tyre. This most natural and pure form of suspension allows you to venture off road, to explore country tracks and gravel paths.

Shed the mudguards, though, and in a flash youve a frame that's equally at home on the weekend Club run or cyclocross race, as endorsed by our sponsored cyclocross racer, CrossJunkie Alan Dorrington.

With a package of this quality, you're getting a truly excellent bike and amazing value for money.

Handles great on gravel roads, very little rider input or movement needed. Stiff so instant reaction to power. Lovely climber Not as comfortable as carbon, obviously, but 4 hour runs still fine with 37mm tyres at 45psi on surfaces verging on (easy) XC. Gives impression of immense solidness and is enormous fun. For the price I cannot recommend it enough.

The frame itself is pretty good. Decent ride quality and well thought out geometry. Let down my the poor build quality and false descriptions on the website. Most of the bosses had to be tapped out because they were filled with paint, a logo on the seatstay was upside down, and the tolerances on the fork crown meant that the crown race had to be filed down. With regards to the headset, in the description on the website it details a good quality fsa headset (the C40 ACB from memory) which rentals for around 45. This is not actually included with the frame set anfblhas to be bought seperatly. The one saving grace for this purchase was the fact that it was so cheap.

Positive:- Great mid-price frameset for 'mixed' use - solid enough for ultra-touring, but light enough for conventional road use- Fork is excellent for 'budget' carbon- Handling is perfect; not too twitchy but not a struggle to steer, even with front racksNegative:- Top tube length is just too short: even with a 120mm stem it's still claustrophobic; Planet X sizing guide is questionable (I'm 6'5" - they recommend small but really I need a medium)- Paint quality isn't perfect - a couple of fade-outs around cable guides and seems to chip very easilyOverall though worth the money!

You should really quit working with DHL. In Sweden at least. They are absolutely horribel to deal with. Because of them I won't order from you again, its too frustrating. You should also reconsider what type of creditcards you accept. I couldnt pay with my card, without enclosing extra proof of its ..... i dont know ...... existance, that worked absolutely fine with your competitors, Merlin benig one of them. It made for a slow and anoying ordering process.

Paint job sketchy and doesn't entirely cover the frame, especially at ends of head tube. Headset is some bizarre measurements, which after asking wiggle and crc, there seem to be only 1 alternative to the FSA Orbit C-40 No.42 headset sold by planetx/onone, so kind of upset that there's so little potential choice dictated by the peculiar frame. Great price at discount to 150.
