The Carnac Notus Race sits right in the middle of the aero-comfort-protection continuum. For serious cyclists, it offers a mix of comfort, protection and aero performance that's going to be hard to beat.

Built using a two-shot moulding technique the Notus Race also majors on protection to go with its great looks. A full coverage EPS core is co-moulded over the internal fittings that anchor the straps and occipital cradle into the body of the helmet for maximum durability.

Fitted with removable and anti-bacterial pads the Notus Race is easy to keep fresh even when stuffed in with all your other race day kit. 100mm of size adjustment from the rear cradle offers scope to cover almost any head size, and there are two sizes to choose from.

If you're still looking for a race ready EN-1078 approved helmet that'll keep you cool, protect your head and look the business then maybe you've just found it.

A correctly adjusted chinstrap is an integral part of the safety provided by any cycling helmet. If your chin strap isnt correctly tensioned there is a risk that the strap may pull through the buckle. Always make sure that the chin strap is adequately cinched up every time you put your helmet on. A loose chin strap potentially reduces the effectiveness of your helmet.

Size guidance: To help choose the correct size helmet for your head measure around the widest part of your head, about an inch above your ears, with a soft tape measure, or piece of string. If you are on the cusp between sizes we advise that you size up.

First class helmet - size L fits like a glove, very light and comfortable. Nice and compact and you avoid that mushroom head look. Highly recommended. Much better than the Notus Evo helmet which wouldn't looks like something that Sigourney Weaver would hunt down in outer space!

Bought the Darth Vader black, at the pre-order price, and its superb. Fit is spot on and as per size guide for my 56cm bonce. Looks good. I bought this as my shopping / commuting lid to save the Kask Protone for best. The difference is slight, especially at the relative price. Not quite as light and not quite as cooling but certainly comfortable and even getting the Kask in the sale, the price difference is apx 75. Quite a saving for minor compromises. Its a minor issue, at the price point, but Id love a better strap system in the next iteration. The straps twist a little too much at the ears and have to be double backed through the buckle or they slip back too easily. Still, a great lid for the money.

Same as an Ekoi AR13, except the Ekoi has a magnetic clasp and 'mesh', breathable webbing straps and bug netting. The Sm/Med just fits my head with the buckle dialled all the way in. It's fairly light and definitely has enough vents to keep the head cool. The pads are easy enough to wash to keep them pong free. Matt Black is more low key than the glossy versions and I prefer them that way. Great price too. Probably buy another to keep for later at this price, why not.

Pleasantly surprised by this helmet. The quality of the molding was the first thing that struck me as soon as I removed it from the box, quickly followed by noting that it was a helmet that wasn't plastered full of stickers and warning labels all over the inside and that all the liners were actually placed on straight and not slapped on like somebody didn't care so long as they got payed... all that and wow what a lovely shade of orange. The real treat though was when I went on my first ride with it and discovered that, unlike so many far more costly helmets that I have owned and used, this helmet really did have superb venting and cooling - after a 8 hour stint in the saddle I didn't arrive home with sweat dripping off my forehead and down the back of my neck like I had the previous day on just a short 8km commute into work. Great helmet. More than glad I bought it. I think I better buy another one just in case some idiot decides they can improve it and truth is they ought to be a comedian like Jim Davidson instead.
