London Bike Show 2014

You may have noticed that we went along to the London Bike Show on the weekend. Held at the Excel centre, nowhere near anything else in the city, it's an aircraft hanger of a venue, used for all sorts of shows and exhibitions. With over 38,000 people regularly attending the show year in year out, the London show is the biggest in the UK these days, a fact clear to anyone that attended, with every space filled with bits, bobs and bikes from the usual suspects and some new faces on the scene too.

We headed down on Wednesday to set up, seeing through the Industry day on Thursday and welcoming our customers from the Friday onwards. We decided to take down a varied selection of our wares, including our Pro Carbon, RT57 and Exocet in many guises. However the biggest stir was being caused by the arrival of three new bikes to the Planet X / On-One family.

Released last week, the 45650B slots into the 456 range with the latest wheel size trend, the Spitfire road race frame, hand made by Sarto and in single figure limited numbers, and, the most anticipated of all, our Codeine; the first full suspension On-One is shaping up to be the biggest and best bike launch yet. We know you've all been asking about the eventual Codeine release date at a rate of knots, there's no firm date in the diary yet, but we're looking at an April release with pre-order in the next month.

Our tri customers might have noticed the appearance of Planet X in 220 Triathlon this month. You'll have to get used to seeing a lot more of us in your monthly reading material as we have loads of bikes going out for some testing and industry scrutiny. Thanks to all our friends in the print industry world who we got to meet up with at the show, we hope you like the bikes.

It goes without saying that the most exciting aspect of taking part in these types of shows is meeting you lot, having a chat and finding out what you think about all that goes on around here. So, the biggest thank you goes to all of you that made yourself known, and all that came to the show in general. If you couldn't make it to the show, don't fear, we'll be ramping up our travels at the following shows...

February 28th - March 2nd - The Triathlon Show, Sandown Park, UK
March 7th - 9th The Bike and Triathlon Show, Manchester Central, Manchester UK
April 4th - 7th: Scottish Bike Show, EA & Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Glasgow UK
May 9th - 12th: Irish Cycling Show, Merrion Square, Dublin IRL

See you soon.
