Rosie's Love Ball- Charity Night

Tennick family organise a fundraiser for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.

In September, last year Planet X staff member Jonathan Tennick and his wife Joanne were nervously awaiting the birth of their next child following signs of abnormalities in Rosie's 16-week scan. Rosie was born with the rare condition osteogenesis imperfecta, a genetic disorder characterised by brittle bones, and lived for just 28 hours. Deeply touched by the staff, service and support offered by Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice Joanne and Jonathan decided to organise a formal charity fundraiser in her memory to help other families going through a similar ordeal.

"Rosie's Love Ball" took place on Saturday the 13th February. Organised and hosted by Joanne the night was very successful, a lot of money was raised for a fantastic cause and though it was an emotional night for the family everybody said what a great night it had been.

Joanne and Johnnie would like to say a massive thank you for the extremely generous donation of a child's bike for the charity auction from Planet X and also, a big thank you to everyone who was able to attend.

As you may know, the event was organised with the intention of raising money for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, in memory of our daughter Rosie. Rosie was born on the 16th September and lived for just over a day. During this very sad time in our lives, Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice offered amazing facilities and outstanding support to us and our family and friends.

For this great support to us, and to many others in similar situations of Child loss and/or illness, we are eternally grateful. It is, for this reason, we decided to organise an event to raise money for this amazing Charity. A Donation of a children's bike by Dave, Planet X, namely the On-One Piccolino, was gratefully received. This raised a significant amount as part of an auction and contributed to us raising over £5,000 on the night itself.

As you can see from the attached photos, of a very pleased little boy collecting his new bike the Piccolino really did hit the spot. Andrew Hall and his family came to visit Planet X on Sunday the 28th February. Andrew had kept this a surprise from his son, telling him all week that if he was good and did his homework for school he could have a treat at the weekend. On his arrival, his new bike was there and his face immediately lit up with a smile.
