Selle Monte Grappa Now In

On a recent trip to Italy we visited Selle Monte Grappa- Italy's own version of the British saddle making legends. The Baggio brothers had been making saddles since 1970 and their products appeared well made, usable and stylish- so we wanted to check them out.

Nestling in the Italian Dolomites the Monte Grappa factory is small, traditional family run business who produce their own leather, machine their own saddle bases and stitch their own grips.... We loved the idea, but what about the products?

Well, we were so impressed that we decided to become their first UK retailer! Their "Old Sporting" saddle looks and feels similar to Brooks' Swallow, and I'm sure it will be as comfortable. We were also impressed with the "Corsa Canard", a retro leather fixie model,  and super lightweight "Blade Tech" racing saddle. Everything handmade. Everything produced with the highest attention to quality and constructed from the best quality materials.

The range of leather bags and grips also stood out in terms of style, function and finest quality Italian leather. From the plain and simple "Borsello" tool bag to classic "Borsa Crusier" panniers their traditional leather-working was very well done indeed.

So we're pleased to introduce a carefully selected crop of the best from Northern Italy, all at special introductory prices.

Check out the product grid below and please let us know what you think- if you like it we'll get more!

It's a good idea, Sam. I'll pass it on to the boss.

Just a thought but as you are the first UK retailer of the Grappa saddles are you planning on having some demo ones that people can try before they buy. I.e when you buy one online you can ask to be sent a 'demo one' with the understanding that if you don't like it after 2 weeks you could send it back for a full refund? You would need to set aside a few saddles from all the stock to act as demos but i think it wouldn't be a bad idea. Saddles are such personal choices that it really helps to try before you buy and in the case of Grappa saddles that isn't an option in the UK.
