The Exocet 2 - Why You Need This In Your Life

Essential to Time Trial riding are two things, power and aerodynamics. Let’s face it, you don’t want anything to slow you down after all your hard work and training; and no matter how good you are, if the bike doesn’t conform to these simple rules then the repercussions can be dramatic on race day and on your PB’s.

The Exocet 2 has been carefully designed with these two targets in mind and has been equipped with features that enable the bike to go above and beyond it’s calling. Initially you may believe that it's popularity stems from the fact that the bike is complemented by the addition of SRAM Force 22, Campagnolo or Shimano Dura Ace 9000 componentry; but as you look closer and familiarise yourself with the Exocet 2’s story you will realise that it is about so much more than just componentry.

Lauryn Dawber our team rider for Carnac Planet X Ladies explains just how good the Exocet 2 is,

“The Exocet 2 is such a smooth riding and comfortable TT bike! I can physically feel the benefits of the attention to detail in terms of dynamics when it’s being ridden! The Planet X carbon tubes are also incredible to ride, being stiff, responsive and looking great! Not forgetting the attention to detail as the frame tapers in at all the right places! The team colour scheme tops off a great bike which I'm sure will assist my time trials in going from strength to strength!”

Having made extensive use of computational fluid dynamics in the design process to ensure that the Exocet 2 cuts through the air with little to no resistance at all; the tubeset profiles are based on the US National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) system for optimised aerodynamics. Meaning that this bike is highly aerodynamic – but we didn’t simply stop there.

Made from Toray T800 carbon fibre the bike frame is light and stiff ensuring that every bit of power you exert is used as efficiently as possible by the bike. Complementing this we have added appropriate features such as a Press-fit BB30 bottom bracket that has no external bearing cups therefore not causing any drag. Likewise the internal cable routing and carbon cover for the lower cable routing means that air drag is reduced even further. To top it off - just as our team rider Lauryn has previously stated - the frame has been tapered in just the right areas. The Taper-Steerer aerodynamic fork, for example, reduces drag and handles better on twisty courses.

There are so many reasons why the Exocet 2 is popular amongst our customers and our team riders. If you asked each of them we are sure they would probably all have different reasons as to why they love it so much. So why not grab yours today to discover what you love most about the Exocet 2.
