Dave Haygarth Dares to be Different

Planet X rider Dave Haygarth has ridden 'cross races in the UK for longer than he'd like to admit, and admits himself that he can get set in his ways.  With the emergence of Gravel and Adventure 'one bike does all' bikes, Dave was sceptical whether a gravel bike could indeed cut it at a flat-out 'cross race.  Dave had an eventful race and a direct comparison of both 'cross and gravel bikes in a way he couldn't have predicted

"...straight out of the blocks I was onto the front of the race and stayed there. A Cyclocross barriers A gap grew on lap one with a pretty fast move over a set of double-planks – bunny-hopped with no problem – with the 33mm WTB tubeless tyres I’d chosen giving a lovely squelch as they rimmed-out under the bounce."

See how the Viner Strada Biance performed - and Dave's pleasant surprise on his in-depth review here on the UK Cyclocross site.
