Bike test: The RT-80 impresses Cycling Weekly magazine

Cycling Weekly magazine was suitably impressed by our carbon RT-80 this week, but that’s no particular surprise as it’s a great customer favourite and one of the many models designed by former UCI pro Jamie Burrow. As the best-selling magazine points out the frame hand-crafted using Toray T800 carbon fibre and represents great value for money.

Don’t just take our word for it, read Cycling Weekly’s verdict in full in the current issue (June 9th).

“The RT-80’s versatile nature should put it on the radar of a lot of riders. For a bike that retails at just over £1,000, its ride quality is really quite incredible,” reads their review round-up.

The magazine scores the RT-80 an impressive 9 out of 10 overall and indeed award it nines for each one of their regular categories (frame, spec, ride quality and value for money).

Another attraction of the RT-80 is the wide range of build options available plus a disc brake version.

Cycling Weekly tested the RT-80 built with Shimano’s 105 popular groupset which with the lightweight Campagnolo Khamsin wheelset is a particularly great buy at just £999.99.

"The beauty of the RT-80 is the ability to customise your component choices at the point of purchase," writes the magazine before stating that although 105 is Shimano's third-tier groupset it's performance is almost on a par with higher level components. "It has a depth of character similar to bikes costing several times as much," they continue.

Tester James Bracey was also impressed by the RT-80 having "some of the smoothest and glossiest paint we've seen in a while" and "cable routing is fashionably internal and Di2 compatibility increases its appeal."

The RT-80 is the fruit of extensive development to fulfil the needs of recreational cyclists and racers alike. The aim was to create a bike with serious race-pace, which is still comfortable on high-mileage sportive events. On both counts, the RT-80 delivers so what are you waiting for?
