Beaver half was always going to be a test for the wrong reasons. A new swim technique, triathlon with the ergomo rather than a TT, and first run over 10 miles since injury.
Everything went well though. A solid swim and out of the water in a respectable place, then just ate up the miles averaging 260 watts on the testing bike course. I took the lead at about 30 miles and into transition had a 1 min lead.
Slowly, the running legs came back and i managed to extend the lead over Cowman winner Joel Jameson to take the win in 4.10.
Pretty happy with the result but have a lot of work to do for Ironman distance.
