PX storm to 5 Gold Medals at the European Masters Track

PX storm to 5 Gold Medals at the European Masters Track Janet Birkmyre, riding her Planet-x Pro Carbon Tack Bikes, took the European Masters Track Championships by storm last week, taking all four of the titles available in her age category. In the points race, she won every sprint taking the maximum number of 25 points. Silver medal went to Patrizia Spadaccini with 10 points and bronze to Petra Kluender of Germany with 8 points. Next came the 500m time trial, where Janet just missed her own world record posting a time of 37.438 seconds, three seconds ahead of the silver medallist, Debbie Capewell from Great Britain. Then came the sprint title with Janet qualifying fastest and progressing unbeaten to take the gold medal in the final. Finally came the pursuit which was the closest of all the contests. After posting a good qualifying time, Janet rode off in the final against the Italian, Spadaccini and had to ride a personal best time to take gold. Not to be overshadowed by Janet’s success, Richard Prince on his Planet-x Pro Carbon Track bike stormed to victory by taking gold in the final event of the programme, the Brian Cossavella Memorial Scratch race over 30k. In a quality field ridden at a frantic pace, Richard opened up the sprint as Bruce Croal attempted to come round. Entering the home straight Croal faded as Richard kicked again for the line to take gold. Well done to both riders
