Tour of the North - Stage 2: Dundonald

Planet X's Roger Aiken took 6th position in today's 76-mile stage.

Philip Lavery of the Cycling Ulster team continues to lead the event after winning the County Down section.

The centrepiece of the route was the gruelling climb of Sleive Croob, which happens to be in Roger Aiken's back yard, and the 27 year old international cyclist demonstrated he knew exactly how to pace himself on the climb and stay fresh enough to complete the stage in 2h53.55.

All 5 Planet X riders finished in the top 50, with Irish track persuit team riders Stephen Barrett and Martyn Irvine just breaching the 3 hour mark and finishing in positions 35 and 39 respectively.

Sunday's 75 mile leg has been changed due to snow lying in the Limavady area.
