Sam Harrison takes TWO Silvers at UCI Junior Worlds

Planet X young gun Sam Harrison is celebrating today after winning TWO silver medals at the UCI Junior World Championships.

We are delighted to bring you news that Planet X rider Sam Harrison has just won TWO silver medals and the UCI Junior World Track Cycling Championships in Italy. Competing in three events over 5 days Sam showed his talent and determination with an all round display of speed and endurance. We don’t like to take the credit for his success however it is clear that his time spent with Wayne Randle on route to and from Boggle hole is now starting to bear fruit.

Speak to our pitch side reporter, the Ginger Avenger, Sam said, “I am delighted to have won two Silver medals. Missing gold by small margins in all the events is probably due to the lack of a 2010 Boggle Hole camp in March this year.”

Riding for Great Britain Sam was a key member of the GB Team Pursuit squad that qualified fastest for the Team Pursuit but narrowly lost out on Gold to the Aussie’s in the final. Also riding the Individual Pursuit Sam set a new Great Britain record for the 3km distance in a stunning time of 3.17 seconds!! This was fast enough to put him in the ride off for a bronze medal which he lost to a Russian with Sam ending up in 4th.

Topping of his outstanding Junior World Championships Sam finished off his week by riding his Planet X Track Bike to a Silver medal in the Omnium. The Omnium is the new Olympic event for men’s endurance track cycling that we will see introduced at London in 2012. Could we possibly see Sam in 2012?

An outstanding performance from Sam and following on from success at Masters level competition the Planet X Track bike [link to PX track bike] now has full UCI honours. More importantly for Sam, he now joins a distinguished list of world and Olympic medallist that have competed for, with and riding a Planet X bike.
