O'Loughlin Wins U13 All Ireland

13 year old Michael O' Loughlin and 16 year old Ryan Mullen picked up four gold and two bronze medals between them at the 2010 All-Ireland Youth Championships in Dungannon Co. Tyrone riding Planet X bikes.

Michael, riding a Planet X SL Pro Carbon enjoyed a spectacular August. Firstly, despite being the youngest member of the Munster provincial team, he won the Under 14 Three Day Mayo Youth Tour, Europe's biggest youth stage race. A fortnight later, he claimed the National Community Games title for a record-breaking fourth year in a row. The Community Games is Ireland's mini Olympic Games. The young man who hails from Carrick-on-Suir, home of Sean Kelly, wrapped up a fantastic month by taking the gold in the Under 13 All-Ireland Road Race Championship, plus bronzes in the criterium and time trial.

Colwyn Bay based Ryan Mullen was the class athlete of the championships aboard his Planet X Nanolight. After winning the morning time trial comfortably, he literally rode the field off his wheel in both the criterium and the road race. In addition, the race jury awarded Ryan with the 'Most Competitive Rider Award'. Those who witnessed his performances are in no doubt that he is very much a star of the future.

Here below are Michael and Ryan wearing their National Champions' jerseys. Well done lads!
