PX USPro Tri Team 7 wins in a month

Planet X is proud to be providing bikes to USPro Triathlon Team. Ryan Bates sent us the following race update. Just reading it makes us crave a recovery drink, some compression socks and a rest day.

Fastest Bike

April usually consists of mainly regional tune-up races, but many of our guys did race on the pro circuit.  Ryan Bates was 2nd pro at the Hinckley Du in Ohio (fastest bike), while Daniel Bretscher took 1st at the Carmel sprint tri in Indiana (fastest run), and Kevin Lisska won Xterra Ft Yargo in Georgia (fastest swim/run).
May really starts to get busy, and the results continued to flow!  On the regional front Ryan B won the Ohio University sprint tri (fastest swim/bike), Mike Caiazzo won the Polar Bear tri in Maine (fastest bike/run), Ryan G won the Galena tri in Illinois (fastest bike/run), Kevin won the Tri the Rock tri in South Carolina (fastest swim/run), and Zach won the Muncie sprint tri in Indiana (fastest bike).

That’s 7 wins for us from mid-April to mid-May, if you are keeping count!

Pro Team Races

We had several guys doing pro races individually in May, as well as two of our pro “team races” where we had multiple guys racing.  Tony was 27th out of a huge 39 pro international field at the St Anthonys tri in Florida.  ITU star Manny raced at the huge Monterrey ITU World Cup in Mexico, finishing an outstanding 15th (4th American) out of 75 international pros!
Our two great pro team races included the Rev3 olympic tri in Tennessee and the Columbia Tri in Maryland. Our new team van and RV were all logo’d up and ready to roll too!  The race results were quite good as well.  At Rev3 Tony was in the money with a very strong 8th place finish out of 28 pros.  Daniel finished 15th (up 5 spots from last year), and Kevin finished 18th (up 2 spots from last year).  At Columbia Mike was our top guy with an 8th place finish, while Daniel was 14th and Ryan B 15th with a mechanical.

So far so good, and we are thrilled with our team this year both in terms of sponsorship and athlete growth!  Check out our website to see where our team and our guys are racing next.  Stop by our booths for some free samples from our sponsors and to check out their gear!

Feeling inspired grab yourself an Exocet DuraAce bike and get out there…
