Breaking News - Aileen Takes Fourth Place in Yokohama

Breaking News… Planet X’s Aileen Morrison IRL takes fourth place in Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series in Yokohama...

A hot and humid day welcomed the women for the start of the race. With air temperature officially at 28 degrees and rising, it was going to be a real fight from the start.

After an exceptionally strong swim, Aileen was amongst the front -runners throughout the course of the event and it was only towards the latter stages of the competition that the last of the medal placings slipped away from her.

The competition was, as usual, very strong and margins extremely tight. Andrea Hewitt NZL took the win in 1-59-17 by 13 seconds over Emma Moffat AUS.   Aileen finished fourth, just 4 seconds behind Kate McIlroy NZL in a time of 1-59-48.

We hope to hear from Aileen just as soon as she’s got her breath back. In the meantime … it’s congratulations from us all here at Planet X.
