OShea Up Against the Big Boys

Planet X rider Sam O'Shea is going to be the youngest ever rider to compete in the Abu Dhabi Triathlon- up against Alistair Brownlee, no less. The 14 year old rising star is causing a stir in the triathlon world, taking on the adults and winning! All the more poignant as he was banned from cycling to school at the age of 10! His mum Angela writes:

"Would it be possible for you to pass on the following to your PR Dept please? We purchased the above 2 Planet X bikes for our children for Christmas and they arrived in Abu Dhabi in plenty of time and are fantastic. My 14 year old son is using his fab new bike when he competes the Short Course at the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon with Alistair Brownlee on March 2nd. ADIT have contacted us as Sam is the youngest competitor in the event.

Sam has been in The Metro and The Independant and we have been contacted by a couple of journalists with a view of more in depth stories. It is quite funny because when he was 10 his school wouldn't let him cycle to school and we had a massive campaign to change that decision, 4 years on he is competing in triathlons and even represented the UAE in the World Championship Biathle in November. Anyway some of the journalists have made the connection between the two and are going with it!

Check out the pic above and you will see that his Planet X Exocet looks really smart (even though they tried to cover it with the flag) so it will be lots of publicity for Planet X! We cycle and run around the Yas Formula 1 Circuit every week and their Planet X bikes look amazing, there is certainly alot of bike envy going on! Our next step is to find a sponsor so we can fund Sam's training at the next level and get a coach to analyse his training and nutrition etc."

Kind regards Angela
