So, this report is a positive one, finally!!!

I officially started the Triathlon-Season 2013. Quite late because it 's July now, but I started. I am really happy to say that there was no DNF.

Indeed my injured knee is still injured, but it worked to do two sprint events. I started in the Agegroup Races at the WTS-Series events in Kitzbühel and Hamburg.

Kitzbühel was a really tough, atypical triathlon race. 750m swim, 11k climb to the “Kitzbüheler Horn” (the final 1km is between 17 and 22% gradient) and a 2,5k run with a 136 meters elevation. I think I don’t have to say more about the course.

In a strong woman field I finished 3rd and was very very pleased that I could handle the hard circumstances of this race.

The next stop for the WTS-Starters and me was Hamburg in the north of Germany. A gorgeous place for participating in a Triathlon, right in the “heart of the city” and a great audience.

I did the short distance (500m/22k/5k) and hoped that my knee would handle the 5k run and it did. Actually I had the 3rd best running time of the 738 womenfield and so I finished 3rd , too. The bike course was terribly nice because we pass the “Reeperbahn” with it’s attractions, had a short view of the harbor and finish at the fantastic “Jungfernstieg”. Hamburg is definitely worth traveling to.

My next stop is my “home-race” the 70.3 in Wiesbaden. I decide to take part in the first disciplines, but unfortunateIy I am not able to run a half-marathon. Nevertheless I will be at the start line and my Excocet 2 will blow through the bike course.

My report will follow soon…

Have a good time, Eva!
