Back on the Cuckney 10

There's not many more well known TT courses around our bit of the world than the Cuckney 10. Lying on the boarders of Worksop, Cuckney, is a sleepy village with an A road of significance running through its heart. Over the distance of 10 miles, races are won, PB's rewritten, and lots of sore legs and lungs registered, just ask anyone that's ridden it, and most around here have at some point along the way.

Last week Planet X founder and owner, Dave Loughran, decided to return to Cuckney following a 10 year hiatus to hone his legs further ahead of his return to competition over the next few months. Alongside him was Ritchie Nicholls and Eimear Mullen, our two new Viner triathletes, and reigning European Ironman Champions. Aside from just giving the legs a test, we had a bike to test too, a new one at that. Completely unridden since its arrival from Italy some weeks before, this new TT prototype got its first airing at the hands of Ritchie and the roads of Cuckney. You'll have to wait and see what becomes of it, it's been taken away for further testing up in Scotland, providing it gets there in one piece of course; how many TT bikes and wheelsets can you fit into the back of a hatchback? Eimear and Ritchie managed about four - an impressive feat.

The protoype frame is still in testing, but you can buy Planet X's flagship time trial / triathlon bike Exocet 2 here
