Malta: Second place for Planet X-Northside's Will Brown

More Planet X success at the international Tour of Malta last weekend…

Planet X-Northside rider Will Brown rode brilliantly to take second place, and two stage victories, in the international Tour of Malta last weekend. It was the 22nd edition of the four stage race.

Will was fifth after the opening time trial stage before a third place on stage two took him up to second place on general classification.

Stage three ended in a 12-man sprint which Will won to consolidate his position in second place before a final opportunity in the last stage.

Will rode an attacking final day and escaped with five riders during the 64km criterium stage (a specialism of Will). Despite winning the sprint for the second successive day he missed out on overall victory by just three seconds.

Congratulations to Will.

It’s not Planet X’s first success in the Mediterranean island’s national tour though. When we heard the news filtering through from Malta we were on the Boggle Hole Ride and Mark Lovatt promptly reminded us that he won the race in 1991. Mark thinks he won all four stages in the process.
